Who Da Man?
NambuJim, he da man! My "new" model 14 ( 1918 vintage), 35 Rem was having some misfire issues, symptoms were light primer hits. After some back and forth, I sent Jim the bolt along with some fired casings. He R&R'd the bolt, and installed a longer firing pin spring, and had it back to ...

Re: Model 14 misfires
Jim, I ran the two rounds that didn't fire in the mod 14 through my mod 81 today. They worked (Grr). I put three more through the model 14, two fired, one did not. The one that did not fire had a very light primer indent. It seems obvious to me that I'm having inconsistent firing pin hits. Bolt gumm...

Re: Model 14 misfires
Thought I better post a pic of my new model 14 Deluxe 35 Rem, (the one on the gun store counter), along with my 32 Remmy. The 35 was made in 1918 I believe, and later returned to Remington for service in 1931. The 32 Remmy is 1927 vintage. It has an old pachmyer pad and a Pacific sight, but is other...

Re: Finally! A Model 600 of my own! sort of..............
Blasphemy for sure, but here's my current 600. I've owned a few in the past but let them go. I just had to duplicate the Colonel's original concept rifle with this one. .308 Win, 6 lbs with Burris 2.75 Scout, Bansner stock, Heritage Arms steel floor plate, XS systems scout rail, Pachymyer pad, and C...

Re: Model 14 misfires
Jim, thanks for your reply. Today was my first opportunity to take the rifle out since "cleaning" the bolt. I tried a few of my handloads and some more of the Remington CoreLokts. The only misfires I had were the original two rounds that misfired the first time around. This makes me think ...

Model 14 misfires
Well, my wife sprung a fast one on me for my B-day and I'm now in psosession of my 2nd Model 14. This "new" one, made in 1918, is in caliber 35 Rem. ( posted previously about how to value it.) Its initial range trip went fine, it put a half dozen rounds down range, no problem. Second time ...

model 14 valuation
Hi folks. I posted here last year when I picked up my first ever mod 14, in cal. 32 Rem. I have become a huge fan and have been on the lookout for another. Today in the gun store I found it. A mod 14 in 35 Rem in approx 90% condition. The wood is dark but otherwise in good shape. A Marbles gold bead...

Re: Model 14 - Dissassembly
Hello everyone, new here,'cuz I have a burning question, or (two?) I just picked up a model 14 32 Rem at the LGS on a consignment sale. Serial code: PU, June 1927? It has nothing to do with the "REP" or single "M" right? Serial 104XXX A very slight crack at the rear of the receiv...
