Perhaps some one could tell me if Remington ever product a heavy barrel in 30-06 Springfield M700 BDL rifle between 1961 and 1964, other than a custom stop build rig. Were heavy barrel M700's even available before 1965 in any production rifles for Remington?
Any help would be appreciated..

Man it sure sounds like you have a rail problem... If the action was a standard cartridge {ie;.30-06 308} and your new re-chamber is for a magnum like the 7mm Rem mag.. its the rails.
