Model 14r date of mfg?
Hi, I recently moved and haven't found my books yet. I did just buy a 14r with a serial number of 36763. Could someone please tell me when it was made?

Re: Model 14 bluing question ?
Thanks Jim, I appreciate the reply! I thought maybe they changed during the 14's because I see what you're saying about some look a little brown in bright light while some to me look a deeper blue.

Model 14 bluing question ?
Just curious, does anybody know if early model 14's were rust blued? If so when did they change to hot bluing? It appears that the earlier bluing looks different.

First year model 14
Well I just bought a first year (1912) model 14 in 30 Remington. Been wanting one for a while but hadn't found a decent one before. The metal and bore on this one are decent with the bluing going about 75% but no rust. Not so lucky with the wood, someone repaired the buttstock on both sides at the b...

Re: Help on Rem. 141 rear peep sight
Again screws are 6X44's and a gunsmith can make you a couple on his lathe. Also, as far as the front sight ramp on 141's, the early manufacture, 1936 for sure, had a machined front sight ramp, and no,I don't mean the odd few that had 14 barrels. Later models were attached. Good luck with the screws!!

Re: Model 14 rear sight?
Nambujim ,
Thanks for the reply! I did buy the book and it is a great referance but there are a few things that I think aren't completely correct such as the rear sight issue. We all know the model 14's seem to fall in a category of there own when it comes to options and datelines. Thanks!

Model 14 rear sight?
Hi All, I have a mint condition model 14 that was manufactured in early 1921. It has the smooth crescent buttplate and is stamped 14A on the barrel. My question is it also has the leaf type rear sight (model 701 1/2?) and not the wheel type sight. It looks original, but for this time frame should it...

Re: Remington Model 14 has a little "play" .
Thanks for the reply's Guys! The rifle looks like it was carried alot but not shot much. Trigger pull is actually very good and much better than most of the 14's I have or have had. Just the little bit of rock between the receiver halves. I'll try a new screw but I figured it must also have a little...

Remington Model 14 has a little "play" .
Hi All, I was looking at another model 14 today and it had a very little up and down "play" between the receiver halves, rocks on the takedown screw. Again very little and both serial numbers match. Gun OK and any solutions?

Re: Remington 141 parts question
Hi, look up above in the model 14 disassembly guide, it's basically the same gun. One is the action bar cover and the other is the cartridge stop(whatever you do, don't loose this as they were fit for the individual rifle). Good luck, it's a nice rifle!!
