Re: Rolling Block Pisstols Model 1871, 1891,& 1901
Daniel, Again, thanks for your informative reply. It does answer my questions I have been in touch with the RCMP technical division in regards to importing a Remington Rolling Block Pistol as a Prescribed Antique Firearm, which here in Canada must be manufactured prior to 1898 to be classed as an an...

Re: Rolling Block Pisstols Model 1871, 1891,& 1901
Daniel, Thank you for your very informative reply. It is much appreciated. You wrote "the commercial models never had any inspectors marks because they weren't for the US, and thus can't be dated." How does the presence of the "P" and "S" inspector marks date the rollin...

Rolling Block Pisstols Model 1871, 1891,& 1901
Does anybody know if, and can provide a reference that states that the frames of the Remington Rolling Block Pistol frames of the Model 1871, Model 1891, or Model 1901 were only manufactured by E. Remington & Sons? Does anybody know if and can provide a reference that states that the pistol fram...

Remington O/U Double Derringer
I have noticed that cracked hinges are fairly common in this model.
What is the likely cause of the hinge cracking?
How much is the value affected by a cracked hinge?
Regards

Re: Model 1891 and Model 1901 Target Rolling Block Pistols
Bill,
Thank you for your reply, it most definitely helps. Do you have any reference as to when Remington stopped producing the frames for the Army Pistols?
Regards,
Bradford

Model 1891 and Model 1901 Target Rolling Block Pistols
Were the Model 1891 And Model 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistols made with frames that were manufactured prior to 1898?
Were any Model 1891 Target pistols produced in 44 S&W or was this chambering only available only in the Model 1901?
Regards

Re: Activity, or the lack thereof
I think most people just look and don’t respond. I posted a question about No.1 Sporting Rifle barrel sights: 630 views, 1 reply.
Perhaps most of the expertise and interest in Rolling Blocks is in the military models and not the sporting rifles.

Re: Rolling Block sporting rifle sights
buckeyebill, Thank you for your reply. I know exactly which version of the Remington Rolling Block rifles I have. They are civilian sporting rifles marked E.Remington & Sons on the barrel. The sights are mounted in dovetails in the barrel. There are no screws in either the front or rear sights. ...

Rolling Block sporting rifle sights
Is there a standard dovetail size for the front and rear barrel sights on Rolling Block sporting rifles, and are they the same?
Is there a standard distance from the front end of the barrel to the front sight dovetail?
Thank you for your consideration.
