I have a chance at an Apache 76 NIB with hanging tags. It's Apache black and chrome. According to the Blue Book 1,615 were made. Does anyone have any more info on this gun? And, by the way, thanks for all the replies on the Apache 77.

For the last 50 years I have used a Rem. 760.... . 35 Rem, if ever a better gun was made someone kept it for themselves! Don't worry about serial numbers, just enjoy the quality of the product. Life is too short to worry about all that techinical baloney.

I was looking at a number of 870's and noticed that some of the barrels were marked with the choke size while others were not. Was this done for some reason? Or am I just not finding the markings?

I just bought a Rem. 760 30.06 Gamemaster (98%.)Scope mounts, no scope. no rear sights. Where would you suggest searching for the rear sight.
