Remington model 17 serial dating and prices?
I just acquired a Remington model 17 20 gauge. The gun has a 32" barrel with a vent rib by Simmons.Gun is in great condition about 85-90%. I was wondering what this guns value is and what year it was manufactured with a serial of bo96xx?

Well I have a lot of nice and rare model 10 remingtons. The 10s is a deluxe trap gun with select usually hand checkered wood. I have a remington 31TC. It isn't 100 percent or anything but I have used it for trap for the past five years and its an amazing shooter. Thank you for the catalog breakdowns, I have been looking for a catalog of the gun. I still have a few questions I would like to find out about this shotgun. Who engraved this Remington? How rare is this shotgun? What is a possible value?

Yea my brother was bidding on the gun. It was a pretty nice one I have two d grades just as nice as the one that sold. They are great guns.

Well I collect the model 10 and have some real beauties. I have had quite a few model 10s do exactly as you described. It Is caused by the firing pin. Especially when wore they tend to go off. Beautiful Remington model 10-E grade
I have a Remington model 10-E grade. It is . The gun doesn't have a built up rib it has a factory rib that is engraved flat down the length of the barrel. The gun is marked patented February 3, 1903 and May 16, 1905. The serial number for the gun is U113322. I will send pictures of the gun to verify...

well for the most part it's all about the gun I love the older remington and thought i would offer help. Never know might still have it or need help. I collect the model 10's 29's and 31's so the topic is partial to me. Rare well built old gun enough said.
