Renewed my membership.

Just in time!
Surprised I remembered my log-in info. :D

Once I figure out how to make my new cellphone work, I'll try to come back and post a few pix.

Glad to back!

Model 700 BOLT HANDLE pulls off...?!

Another one bites the dust. Perhaps someone here can address the situation there...? http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332852 I've read a few threads about this problem and seen some good pix of it, too. Never had it happen to me ( yet? ). What's the best remedy for this fa...

Remington 7400 Carbine .30-06 w/accessories.

 Yes, it isn't 200 years old and I'm making a snide remark... :P There are SO many OLD GUNS shown here I believe the Forum is doing itself a disservice (sp.?) by not showing, asking, or begging for more members by opening up to the more modern firearms and younger shooters! Nonetheless, her...

Re: Redfield Scope Base Screws Needed

Take it to the gunsmith in town; he's probably got a collection of appropriate size screws for that application. I think the thread is called a 6-48... You found a rare base with that flip-up aperture sight integral with the unit, I think! Rumor has it that Leupold has picked up the Redfield line of...

Re: Rem. Mod 7 and Mod 700 actions- what is difference

I'm posting because nobody else has... :? Sorry I can't give you a good answer to your question; you might try the Google option to get more info. There is a difference, and I've yet to get a Model 7 action, unless my XP-100R action is the equivalent to the 'Seven'. So far I have 3 Model 700's; a 70...

If you're still checking out this thread... That J-Lock can be tossed in favor of the Callahan unit available on Midway's site. The factory J-Lock shroud is HUGE and it compresses the spring inside the bolt, so the Callahan unit is a good change to make. The factory BDL stock could be changed over t...

This is a depiction of my ArmaLite AR10 / .308 rifle as first conceived in 2003 for AR15.com as that year's Special Edition Black Rifle. I got #007 :P for obvious reasons! I don't have a picture of it yet, but when I do, I'll post it. It was recently upgraded by ArmaLite, so it's even better than ne...

More about 'modern' Remington rifles...

MY quote from the thread listed below regarding 'modern' Remington rifles. Unless a physical condition prevented me from shooting the various centerfire cartridges available, I'd never limit myself to the .22LR. I can see it if it were a necessity, though. http://www.remingtonsociety.com/phpBB2/view...

J-Lock / 7400 --- how do I replace this unit?

I'm going to switch out the J-Lock on my 700 / .375 ULTRA MAG for a Callahan unit. This will basically replace the bolt shroud. On my 2000 7400 Carbine Synthetic / .30-06, the J-Lock is in the button-safety aft in the triggerguard. How do I replace this piece? can I use one of the 'large button' rep...

I've spent a few days doing internet research ( homework ) and found a couple of alternatives, only one of which I deem worthy of considering --- the Browning Gold Hunter 3.5" w/magazine cut-off feature. Damn nice guns. I've got a BAR MkII Safari w/BOSS in 7mm Rem.Mag. that is very nice, and I ...

Why does the 11-87 SUCK?

I've inquired on a few Forums about the Remington 11-87 Premier Super Magnum.
Many of the replies are that the 11-87 and the Super Magnum version of it BOTH have had problems with 'jamming' or 'FTE' ( failure to eject ).

Is the 11-87 a 'problem child', or what?
