Re: Rem 722 222 rem mag heavy barrel
That roll mark of the caliber looks just like the one on my early 40x. It was made around 1960. Possibly someone put a factory 40x barrel on your 722 action. Threads are the same, and it would be a simple job for a gunsmith with a 222 mag. reamer. As an aside, I too had a 244 722 with a 26 inch bbl....

Model 25R production numbers
I have just picked up a Model 25R in 25-20 to go with my 32-20. Can anyone tell me how many of the carbines were made during the production run ?

Re: Remington model 25 question
Thanks for the information Tom. I just bought one, and it simply has Model 25 on the receiver. It is in the last 1000 of them made. I feel better knowing that they didn't have that R on them. I was worried that mine might have been a converted rifle. Tom

Remington model 25 question
Can anyone tell me if a model 25R pump rifle was marked with an R behind the "Model 25" on the receiver? It's a 32-20 if that matters. Thanks, Tom

Re: 1950's remington target rifle
Definitely not a xp-100. Not even close there. It has been rebarreled and restocked and only the action is Remington now. The action is definitely a Remington, as it is roll marked with their logo. I have never seen a Remington center fire gun with no model no. on it. It wasn't made from anything el...

1950's remington target rifle
I still need help on identifying a remington bolt action I have acquired. It is a single shot with a 308 bolt face bolt that is 722 style. It is not relieved on the top as every other rem ba I have seen. It is not a 40x. The ejection port is very small, just big enough for a 308 cartridge. It has bl...

no model name bolt action
I just purchased a Rem single shot bolt action rifle. The action is marked Remington in the normal place, but there is no model number under it. It has a 722 style bolt handle, and is made for a 308 bolt face. It has a very small ejection port, quite different from my 1961 40x single shot. Just big ...
