Re: Remington 25 receiver
Then you can put a Model 14 stock on your rifle, it IS slimmer and trimmer but weaker. One of the changes Remington made when they introduced the 141 was to beef up the stock to lessen cracking at the wrist they experienced with the Model 14. Both the 14 and 141 have pilot holes in the end of the st...

Re: Remington 25 receiver
Model 12 & 25 utilize the same frame & stock configuration!
There is NO way you can fit a Model 12 or 25 stock to a 141 AND who would
ever want to try??
Good Luck!

Re: Help with caliber confirmation #4 rolling block
Yes, in my opinion but I am not an authority on Rolling Blocks.
I am however sure that the 4S only came in .22 Long Rifle and that yours is a .32 Rimfire. Neat little gun!
Take care & behave!

Re: Help with caliber confirmation #4 rolling block
Again, out of my comfort zone but the Boy Scout Version was the Model 4S and available only in .22 Long Rifle. An old friend has a site for antique ammo and has a couple of boxes for sale of .32 Rimfire Short @ $175 (50 rounds), one is the Navy Arms and the other a box of Canuck stuff. www.rtgammo.c...

Re: Help with caliber confirmation #4 rolling block
This is out of my comfort zone but since no one else has offered up any info I'll take a shot at it. The rifle being marked "32", my understanding is that translates to .32 Rimfire Short or .32 Rimfire Long, either could be fired in the rifle. Hard cartridge to find but you can get some fr...

Re: model 14 1/2
I should have added this to my first reply and that is "if" the "stop" is in that condition then something else is amiss. I believe this to be just the beginning of your problems with this rifle. Parts for the 14-1/2 are hard to find and finding them in good usable condition is e...

Re: model 14 1/2
That is a "cartridge stop" specifically for the Model 14-1/2. You can get a spot on replacement from "Wisners". I have purchased several of their after-market stops for the 14-1/2 and every one worked perfectly.

Re: Remington Model 12 - Year of Manufacture & Jamming Problem
I used to know the size/pitch but just don't recall, I've sent screws and some other minor parts up north without trouble. Give it a try, they made a lot of those rifles so its a pretty common part.

Re: Remington Model 12 - Year of Manufacture & Jamming Problem
Fore End screws for the Model 12 can "usually" be found on Ebay and some years back I got some from Numrich. Check Ebay first, they like those for the Model 14 are of an obsolete thread size.

Re: Remington 1861 Army with a late address
I don't often stray into this part of the "Forum" but for information purposes I have an Old Model Army in about 90% condition, Serial 2651 or 41 higher than your revolver. It has the proper barrel with a two line address, top line "Patented December 17, 1861. It has clear cartouches ...

Re: Model 14 / 14-1/2 Full Collection?
When I joined the RSA I was advised NOT to provide appraisals on the forum for "several" reasons and in this case there would be far to many variables to factor in. I'll break with tradition and say one hundred twelve dollars for the lot.

Re: Remington Model 514 Rear Sight Help
If you are talking "receiver sight", one that is screwed into the left rear side of the receiver then the Lyman 57RS or the Redfield 75RS were designed to fit your rifle but holes would have to be drilled. As far as a "peep sight" that would fit into the holes on the top of the b...

Model 141 Action Bar Covers / Bulletin #15
Yeah, these are "the" most broken part on the Model 14 and 141 and since they haven't made any since parts ran out back in about 1958 they are hard to come by. The most common way to come up with one is buy a parts gun and hope the action bar cover is intact or at least usable condition. T...

Re: Model 14 - Dissassembly
There are a number of videos on "youtube" showing rust removal on firearms. They all involve various chemicals that I personally haven't tried but the results were impressive. All I can do is point you in that direction and give you my best regards. Rust is not a friend to this particular ...
