Re: Yet another old model 10
I think the RMP you refer too is actually REM and it is a proof mark. It became 10A around 1910. Be careful shooting it. Jay Huber RSA

Re: 1889 with cut barrels
Your gun was made in 1898. We do not evaluate guns since we can not handle them. The cut barrels detract from the value of the gun however. I would say you didn't do to bad at $280 and you now have a coach gun. Jay Huber RSA

Re: Need Rough Value on this - Wife has Cancer
It is what we call a police model 38 Rim Fire. I do not have production serial numbers for these guns. The BLUE BOOK of GUN Values will give you an idea of what it is worth not engraved. You should be able to find an issue at a local gun dealer. I do not know what the letters mean, perhaps the initi...

Re: 1858 New Model
Your gun was made in Earlie 1864. I believe yours is actually silver plated. I have never seen a truly tin plated Remington Army Madel. I had a nice silver plated one in my collection. I had a tin plated Navy once but was able to prone it had been done after The War. Silver plating process was avail...

Re: REM M1858 W/POSSIBLE USAGE BY INDIAN-MEXICAN BORDER RAIDERS
Your Gun was made at end of Civil War about March of 1865. The "C" indicates a reject and the lack of military inspection marks also indicates reject. Your Story sounds feasible.

Re: 20 gauge rolling block identification issue
I take it that it is a single barrel shotgun. If this is the case there were models #1 & #2. #1 was a 16 Ga.bore that uses-es a 16 B brass shell which is the same size as a 20 GA. paper shell and could be used in the gun. It should have a flat shotgun butt plate. #2 is usually a 20 GA. bore with...

Re: Model 14/14-1/2 serial number question
The answer is Yes, There is a new book that just came out on the 14 and it has everything you would want to know. Go to home page this site and scan down the right hand side, click on books and find the book entitled REMINGTON 14. Order it it is very well done. Jay Huber
