I finally got the receiver cleaned out enough to see the metal and not years of crud. Tried 22 shorts and she feeds, fires, and cycles like on the day she was born. Located and purchased a 550-1, the second rifle I owned as a youngster. Loved that gun; accurate, and ate anything I fed her. Looking forward to her arrival. I'll post some pics when she gets here and I've had a chance to clean her up a bit.

That's pretty much what I thought. I really like the 514; easy to use and maintain as well as a excellent shooter. Thanks for the conformational information, think I'll go shoot it some this morning.
