Re: Just Pcked up a 1949 Model 31 Skeet gun 12 gauge with Cu
Once you get out the Left and Right Shell Stops, the Slide and the Lifter, turn the Receiver over, top side up and shake it, the bolt should get stuck in an easy removable position. I have had to field strip my 16 gauge pheasant hunting 31 on my hunting coat to get out a bunch of weed tassels that g...

Just Pcked up a 1949 Model 31 Skeet gun 12 gauge with Cutts
Happy New Year, won a Remington 31 Skeet gun with a Cutts Compensator. The gun was made in June of 1949 and has an aluminum trigger housing with matching serial number to to receiver which is steel. The gun has a vent rib and the orginal hard plastic butt plate. Nice shape, so far to date my best sc...

Re: Remington 31 Skeet Gun
Since my gun has a factory vented rib I am going to guess that the Cutts was installed after it left the factory. According to the catalogue page you scanned and posted it appears that only solid rib guns could be order with a Cutts factory installed. Would that be a correct conclusion?

Remington 31 Skeet Gun
I just received a Remington Model 31 Vent Rib Skeet Gun. The barrel dates to June of 1949. It has a Cutts Compensator with Spreader Tube. The bluing on the barrel and Cutts all have the same wear and patina. Did Remington Supply these guns wtih Cutts Compensators or were they a factory option? How w...

Re: Anyone Shooting a Remington 31 Skeet Gun
I just picked up a 1940 16 gauge Model 31 Skeet Barrel on Ebay. It has a Cutts Compensator with Spreader Choke. It fits my 1948 Model 31 Receiver perfectly. I just shot a 25 with it on the Skeet Range this weekend, the gun patterned beautifully on the patterning plate with a uniform dense pattern pe...

Re: Anyone Shooting a Remington 31 Skeet Gun
I have a beautiful Model 31 Skeet in 20ga with a solid rib w/small silver mid-bead and large forward-facing front bead, matching numbers (barrel and receiver) with LTT barrel code, which puts it at Feb, 1947. This gun has a beautiful figured stock with a Remington red recoil pad and very nice check...

Re: Remington 31F
Thanks FredRay, I have only seen one 31F in Photos on Gunbroker in 2001. I did not win the bid, it was a 16 gage with non ribbed barrel. As I recall it went for $1300, I still kick myself for not going higher. Anxious to see your photos. Are both barrels engraved and serial numbered to the gun?

Re: Model 31 F Grade
I am sorry, but I have to agree that this is not a factory "F" grade Remington 31. The engraving does not look anything like factory engraving I have seen on one other 31 "F" grades several years ago. Also the checkering style and pattern is quite different. Still a nice gun, but...

Re: Model 31 F Grade
Congradulations, would you please post some close up photos that show the engraving on the receiver and barrel. Thanks. What is the barrel code.? It will be either a single letter or double letter code near the choke markings.

Re: Anyone Shooting a Remington 31 Skeet Gun
Hi Lowgun, sounds like an interesting conversion. As a frame of reference, 20 gauge model 12's do get converted over to 28 gauge model 12's. I would check the list of parts affected on that conversion. If you were to sleeve the magazine tube, will the 20 gauge shell stop latches keep the cartridge f...
