511 trigger ???
Hi guys. In an attempt to recapture a part of my youth I found a decent Model 511 recently and brought it home. I somehow forgot what the trigger pull on these was/is like. I swear this thing has an 8lb trigger pull. I have been doing some reading regarding the problem and some say not to do any sto...

788/700 question
Can anyone tell me if the barrel threads on an M700 are the same as the M788? I am thinking I'd like to move a barrel from one to the other if possible. Any other issues with a swap like this that I need to know about? Other than having the headspace checked/adjusted as necessary after the swap. I a...

Re: 244
Yes, they've made lots of them. If you count the 6MMRem anyway. If you are looking for a 700 with the slower twist barrel of the 244s, you might find a custom or older varmint rifle with it, but it'll likely be used or NOS. AFAIK Rem got rid of the slower twist barrels when they changed the name of ...

Re: 788, just the facts...
Personally I don't really care about the facts or other articles about the 788. Too many weren't exactly kind to this rifle. I do know this though: I once had one in 6mm that I would darn near kill to have back. Best, most reliable, easy to shoot rifle I ever owned. And it killed virtually everythin...

Re: M721 "Patents Pending" ???
Thanks Rem!
I am rather curious about this patent# thing and I'm hoping others will chime in. It might help us all identify the oldies more quickly when we're out scanning in pawn shops etc.

M721 "Patents Pending" ???
I noticed on my M721 the barrel reads "Patents Pending" where I've seen others have a patent number stamped. It is the E SS gun listed in the "date code" thread. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know when the patent numbers started showing up on the barrels? By barrel da...

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
I picked up my M721 today. It's a 30-06 24" barrel, with a barrel code of E SS. Serial Number 225XX it is etched/engraved in the left lug race, inside the receiver. Should be October of 1947. So add to the list: 225xx 721/30-06 E SS 10/47 Beautiful end to end tiger stripe walnut, that appears t...

Hello all. I've been a Remington owner/shooter/lover for years and I'm sure glad you're here.
I currently am on my 4th Remington product and have a deposit on a 721/06 at the hobby shop.
Hope to learn more about my fine firearms by being here, and I hope I can contribute.
