Here are the after pics. The walnut stock has a subtle tiger stripe that doesn't photograph well. These outdoor photos show it best.

I was hoping to get some guidance from the forum regarding wood finish as well as the metal finish on the buttplate. What finish was used on these rifles originally? Varnish? Any suggestions for what to use that closely duplicates the original look?
