Hey, it may be very helpful in purchasing a Gun Digest Firearms Catalog. It'll list everything Remington made along with other manufacturers and it'll give a good idea of worth too. Actually these are just model 700, not the 770 (sorry, the things you get used to typing). They are beautiful. Each tiger striped maple or oak stocks with diamond inlays and swelled grips. We received 6 custom made model 770's left handers for auction. Each one is stamped "Custom Built for Lanny Freeman by - John L Turner." These are all date coded in the mid-70's. My question, does anyone know John L Turner? Was he a reputable gunsmith? Was he Remington only? Google was no ...
