Re: Any excavated civil war remingtons out there?
Finding relics is like any other hobby, buy or build: hunt or gather. I am a buying gatherer. Go to gunshows, watch the net, get the word out to locals you are looking. I bought a Bisley once at a farm sale for $5. Had a fellow bring me a Lightning he found sticking out of a river bank. Had a friend...

Re: Any excavated civil war remingtons out there?
Hello Matt, Strangely enough I don't see any Remington Army relics out there. If there are they are usually just broken frames. I have Colt Armies, Navies, Pockets, flasks, and molds that are dug but as far as Remingtons I have two derringers, a New Model Pocket , and strangely enough a New Model pi...

Remington over under derringer
Another of the never ending questions on the Remington over/under .41 Derringers. I have just purchased one of these with the 2 line E.Remington & Sons markings. It has the extractor on the RIGHT side which I've never seen to my recollection. Have I just overlooked this or what? Serial number is...

Re: Remington Type II Model No. 3 Double Derringer
Hi Luke, Never ending question about Remington serial numbers. It is generally accepted these numbers are batch numbers starting at 1 and running to 999 and starting over as evidenced by more than one number 1 being known. This number should match a number on the grip frame under the grip. I have an...

Re: Two barrel derringer.
My serial number is 1174 in small numbers on the bottom of the barrels and the top of the grip frame. It has early wood grips with two and three point escutcheons.

Re: What's the most affordable pre-1898 Remington pistol?
Smaller frame conversions, Pocket and Police, are still reasonable as are second model over under derringers. Second model Smoots are the lowest it seems.

Two barrel derringer.
Just a curious question to members. I have one of the transition first model Remington two barrel derringers with extractor and side rib markings. Is anyone tracking or logging this variation?
