I finally fixed the pics...Hunt101 changed their format. shot1too - I didn't mean to offend - my comment was mostly poking fun at myself. I am a collector of Winchesters (GASP) and have thrown logic to the wind for many purchases. If you always buy with your brain instead of your heart you will like...

So basically you spent a thousand dollars to fix up a $500 gun? I'm not a fan of some of these new Remington Rifles, but I would have to say that you would have been better off to just spend the money and buy a whole new rifle and not just fix your old one. If your handloads are within 1 grain of y...

+1 on the 700 stocks. That is the easiest was to go if you can't find an original 721 stock. The safety cutout is no problem, but the magazine difference must be addressed. The easiest/cheapest solution is get a model 700 ADL take-off stock (<$50), then buy a 700 ADL magazine box/spring/follower and...

Born-again 721 Meets Mulie

I don't see alot of "action" posts on this site, so I hope this is OK. But I am pretty jazzed and wanted to share... My dad's first bolt action deer rifle, bought in about 1960, was a Remington 721 in 264 Win Mag. He had it rebarreled (at the factory) in the mid-sixties due to a shot-out t...

These are very nice looking custom rifles. I rebuilt a 721 with a shot-out barrel and a "well loved" stock that was my dad's rifle for about 30 years. It was a 264 Win mag and a TACK-DRIVER !! Then it started thorwing flyers and even tumbling, and that was that. He loaded it pretty hot. Wh...

Hepburn or Rolling Block Sights - Questions

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed browsing through the information and topics here. I have noticed that most Hepburn questions go unanswered, so I'll keep mine simple and hope for the best. I would like to know a source (book, website, guru, etc.) that shows what sights were offe...

Model 12 King Sights (and other Questions)

Hello everyone. I'm new here as you can see. I stumbled on this site while searching for period sights for a newly acquired Hepburn, and I've been back several times learning about Model 12s. Thank you for all the information and knowledge on the site!! My first post/question is regarding sights. My...

Checking In

I found this sight researching vintage sights for my newly acquired Hepburn. I suppose I can qualify as a Remington collector since I have a few various models, old and new.

It looks like a great forum.
