Re: Who Da Man?

No doubt about it. Jim is one in a million. Great guy and a whiz with the m14. He has bailed several of us out of a "jam".

Reforming Brass for 25 Rem

Hello All, Well, my son and I have been shooting the heck out of our model 14s (25 and 35). He has yet to get his first deer but I have put down a few with both guns. We are down to under 45 rounds of 25 Rem brass now as cases have started to deteriorate after multiple reloads, etc. I know I can buy...

Re: Another Notch in the Stock (Buck with Model 14)

Jim, You'd look sad too if you had been hit by a car and shot on the same day! This deer was shot by my 35, not the 25 you worked on. I have not hunted with the 25 this year but I did get one last year as told in this story... http://www.remingtonsociety.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5055 Gamem...

Another Notch in the Stock (Buck with Model 14)

Here's a fun story I thought y'all might enjoy... I had been sitting in my stand for 20 minutes Monday morning when this 8 pointer came running down the hill right in front of me, staggering, limping and running into trees. Kind of out of control. When he got right in front of me (about 40 yards awa...

Hope you are well.

Re: Model 14 problem

I realize this post is a bit old by now and the OP may be long gone already, but I fel compelled to give a bit of advice to him, or perhaps someone else who happens along looking for help. Realize, please that you will not find a better resource to answer all your M14 questions, You may not be aware...

Re: Got one with the 25 Remington!

Rickster, 97 years old is young for people in my family. My grandfather just died a year ago and that's when I inherited my model 14s. He was the chief of the Choctaw tribe and is the one who taught me my stalking skills. Twenty yards is actually a long shot for me. I usually wait until I can put my...

Got one with the 25 Remington!

I owe a big thanks to the people on here who have answered my many questions and helped me out so much over the past year. Wulfman, Rickster, UMCpumpgun, TBury, and especially NambuJim and Tom Hemphill. As you may know I bought a Model 14 25 Rem for my son last year and have had a lot of questions. ...

Re: Cartridge Jam Model 14

OK, here it is... After several emails back and forth between NambuJim and me, and failure on my part to get the rounds out, I decided to take a 5.5 hour road trip to bring the gun to him. Jim was so kind to drive an hour to help me shorten my trip. We met at a McDonalds and had a nice meeting for a...

AH-HA! Thank you KEN! I got it to work PERFECTLY! I don't want to embarrass myself too bad so let it suffice to say that I did not fully understand the way this thing operated. Now I do.

Re: Crimping Die

Maybe I am doing something wrong. I am following the instructions as I read them. I'm doing the same thing I do with my 35 remington crimp die which works well. I put the die in press until the bottom of it makes contact with the shellholder (with the ram raised or course), then screw it in a 1/2 tu...

Crimping Die

In another post someone suggested that a Lee crimp die for 250 savage would work for crimping my 25 remington necks. I ordered one from Midway and got it today but the neck pushes right up through the die without even making contact. Is there something I am missing here?

Model 14 Sights Roundup

Hey Folks,
If I wanted to put some period correct aftermarket sights on my model 14s, what are some options, and are there any moders reproductions being made of old sights for M14s?
Thanks,
Carl
