Re: Model 141 worth?

The general rule is they don't assess values here. Honestly, you have given very little information to even come close to giving a fair value. Good pictures is a start. One BIG question is has it been refinished? What kind of sights does it have? Has it been drilled and tapped for a scope mount? Has...

Re: Model 8 or 81

The missing screw is a filler screw. That hole is to attach a tang (peep) sight. A rounded pistol grip does not make a model 8 a C grade. The fabcy wood and checkering wood. The rounded pistol grip on a model 8 is an option, though. It is less common than the straight grip. to tell if the wood is an...

Re: Model 11 Shotgun stock

yes it was, and no I can't. They aren't extremely common. I'd love to have one, just because. I assume you don't have any wood. I would watch Gunbroker, Ebay, etc for a stock. Maybe call and talk to Numrich Gun Parts. Ask Remington, but don't expect a lot of help. They list parts suppliers on their ...

Re: Sportsman 48F

based on the 2 pictures in the link provided, NO. Doesn't look factory to me, but I'm no expert.
That doesn't look like any Remington Factory engraving I've seen.
A 21" barrel sounds like one that has had a Cutts Compensator cut off (shortened barrel).

Re: Model seven ks rifle 350 mag

Basically one of these with a different colored stock. The Custom Shop prices went way up about 2 years ago. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=150525408 I really drooled on teh 7MS, full length laminated stock in 35 Remington. Then the price went from $1400 to over $2000.... Oh Well.

Re: Model 11 still filling the freezer

They supplied the ammo for the shoot. Remington Target loads, #8's.

Look at the HeviShot Classic Doubles. It's made for older guns. Should perform like lead, so #6 or 5's for ducks should be fine. If you buy before the end of the year you can get a $10 per box mail in rebate (up to 2 boxes).

Re: 16 gauge Model 11 action dimensional change

The model 11 wasn't made after 1948.

I don't know why (or if) there was a dimesional change to the receiver in the 16 ga. Doesn't make sense.

Definately not original. The Gold plated trigger is another giveway. It way be Chrome or Nickle plated. Most likely chrome. Remington's site says discontinued in 1968.

Re: Model 11, model and age?

Without any engraving and no checkering it would be a grade1 or A. Base model. Be sure to set the friction ring/bronze friction piece to the "heavy" setting. It should cylce most modern "light" loads on that setting. Would be best to stick to 1 1/8 ounce loads (max) but a few 1 1...

Model 11 still filling the freezer

My Old (newer to me) Model 11 made good at the Turkey Shoot Thanksgiving morning. Local volunteer fire department has a Turkey shoot each year. First time I've been. Picked up a Model 11 on the internet about a year and a half ago from Maine. 30" Full choke barrel that shoots about like an extr...

Re: Antique Wall Posters

These sets show up from time to time on EBay, as mentioned above. I bought mine about 9 years ago for $50. I got lucky, but the prices above are about right. Maybe $50 each to the right buyer, but they don't seem to bring too much.

Re: Why doesn't Remington change..

For what it's worth, I like the postion on the safety. It's been there on Remingtons since, what, the 1920's. Maybe earlier on the Model 14 pump rifle. I can pick up any Remington (11-87, 1100, 870, 7400, 7600, 141, 14, etc) and know where the safety is. It's very easy to use the trigger finger to t...

Re: Pictures of 141/14 grades and stock options

Is it just me, or does the front sight ramp look like a 141? The receiver looks like a model 14 (no stampings on the side and solid filler plug) Looks fairly well used and is drilled and tapped for a scope (not original) Also, the "C" refered to above is a model, not a grade. The model 14 ...
