Post Remington 1858 NM Army CONVERSION
...I have a Remington 1858 NM Army CONVERSION to 44CF and it has a cryptic marking of which I am unfamiliar. It is marked "CA390" on the right side barrel lug just in front of the cylinder. It's also in the 88XXX serial range (which I doubt has any significance to the marking). If anyone has a definitive answer as to this stamping, I'd be much appreciative to know what it means.
Thanks, and best of collecting to you all!

We don't know who put the conversion stamp number on the gun. We ha seen them into the 400 range. Jay Huber RSA
