1955, 40X. .22
I have a September 1955 40x in .22. Serial number 1243. I got it from the original owner. From his wife after he died. Is this rifle valuable. It seems to have done little work. The timber is a bit knocked around. It has been sent away to be refurbished. Otherwise pretty good. She wouldn't give it to the son because he wouldn't respect it, in her words. Came to Australia from Canada. His sniper training rifle from his days in the military.

It certainly has value. I suggest you check the various internet sales sites to find a sale for a rifle in similar condition to yours. "Refurbishing" leaves a lot of unknowns for valuation.
