Wow! Interesting gun. Your M/12 was made in 1911. The barrel was replaced later. That is obvious sine it has a 1912 patent date on the barrel. Also the only year The M/12-A made a 22 SHORT ONLY was 1935. There could be exceptions give or take a year but no more than that. It may have started it's life as a gallery gun...

Value? I wouldn't hazard a guess. Parts guns do not bring much.

John: Stamped on the barrel next to the receiver is what looks like TH. The T is stamped deep and the H is very light, if that is what it is. They are very close to the receiver, so hard to see the H plainly.

Those letters can't be a date code. The "H" could stand for 1939, but the "T" isn't in the formula so it must just be inspection stamps.

John: Is there a way to get a letter from Remington stating what the original build specs were for the serial number stamped on the frame?

I'm quite sure that Rem does not have those records.

John: Here is a photo of the markings on the left side of the barrel. What's your idea of what it means? Thanks.

It looks like a proof/testing/inspection mark. Remember that the barrel was no doubt removed from another rifle and added to yours.

I have several 12-A's factorty 22 short only. Some of them were made in mid 1920's. I tried to post a picture of one on my phone, but it says image is too large.

Also no date code on the barrel so it must be pre 1921. It also says UMC on the barrel.
