Grandfarthers Model 12

Post by letsdrag »

I have a 22 rifle that was my grandfathers, I believe it is a Model 12, atleast it looks like the other ones I have seen. But it does not say that on it. Just has Remington and the pat dates of 1909 on top of octagon barrel. I believe it is a early one sense only a five digit serial number and most the ones I seen on here people posting are six digit. Can anyone help me with any info on it. Serial number 76018

It is an early one made in 1911. Production started in 1911 with #55,105 and ended with 104,041.

The MODEL 12 stamp was phased in. Some rifles as late as 1917 did not have the stamp.

Values aren't usually given here. There's just too many variables. Are the sights original? Any cracks in the wood? How's the bore? I'm only listing the questions; not looking for answers. In any case the value won't make a significant bump in your net worth. The M/12s are great rifles. Certainly one of my favorite.

Oh Ok, Im not really looking to sell it but have to give my brother fair value of half the worth to make it fair with him.
