bit hard to tell the condition but it looks to be in fair to good. you seem to already know about the thumbnail safety option. it makes it desirable to collectors. that and being a 25 makes it even more so. if it functions fine, is tight, and is not too badly cracked and pitted, it would probably fetch $1000-ish on a gunbroker auction these days.

That IS a decent looking .25. Bore condition will be the deal maker. It is VERY common to find the .25s with rough bores (at least around here), as so many were made before the advent of Kleenbore priming. About like early 22s and Lesmok or black powder.

See, in Appalachia, a lot of feed stores or dry goods stores would sell shells one at a time, and it's entirely possible that pre-Kleenbore 25s were available in the back country up til the 50s, when the older rifles like the 14s and 12s were replaced with more "modern" hardware.

Thanks for the replies.
Seller wanted $800 and is some 200 miles away. Pictures just aren't good enough to warrant the price, to me, at least. He had no ammo or brass to go with it.

You're rolling the dice without detailed bore condition info. Brass can be made, but the bore is the thing and that's a lot of cash for a 25 where the bore isn't known.
