Rifle model #?

Post by Ermad »

I think I have a model 14 in 30 cal but can't find the model #. Not sure if its a 14, 14 1/2, or 141. Anyone know where to find the model #?

The build date should give you your model as they don't overlap, or very very little. The 141 standard barrel is longer and the front site is sweated on, IIRC. There is no boss and the barrel supporting the mag tube. The 1/2 was only in 38/40 and 44/40.

14½s were only in 38-40 and 44-40, so that's out. Later 14s and all 141s had the serial and the model on the left side of the receiver, so you would have seen that. That leaves the model 14s made from 1912 into the mid 20s. If the serial is on the front bottom of the receiver, with a "C" above it, it is a model 14........tom
