I have always thought the 700 Classic was a one cartridge per year rifle produced in the appropriate action length for the cartridge.
Metal was blued and stocks were all walnut with no special features except pads and sights on some.
Now I am finding on another site a guy who has a 22" Stainless 257 Bob, built on a long action, with a classic looking stock that he says was built in the 90s. He even has a box that says Classic, 22" bbl, stainless.
Would be nice to know the facts.
Thanks, Larry
Remington 700 Classics: question
Re: Remington 700 Classics: question
OK. Gears were turning. Had to go back but I believe what he has is a Bill Hicks Co. limited run. Some searching says 2002ish. But it was as you describe; a SS Classic in 257. Can't find anything on the action length or numbers.
