Remington Model 12C?

Post by tsmgguy »

I have what I believe to be one of the above, serial number 199930, and would like to know about when it was made. It's a family heirloom that I inherited in 1973 at the passing of my paternal grandmother. I believe that both my uncle and father learned to shoot using this gun. There's a code on one of the barrel flats (octagonal) on the left side right up against the receiver, F over L. I don't believe that the gun's been fired since about 1940. It's in very nice shape, with the typical knocks and dings in the stock, and bright edges that have picked up a plum colored patina. All screw and bolt heads are untouched. Thanks!

Your M/12 was made in 1913. The letters you see are inspector/proof stamps. Please use only standard velocity ammo if you decide to fire it.
