Model 141/2 38-40

Post by Speedbump »

I have a mode 14 1/2 cal 38-40 or 38wcf. Serial number is C 4456x, belonged to my grandfather. Missing screw in diag part number 47, magizine tube to action bar lock screw. I have been trying to make one but it seems to be a odd thread size. about .125 long and a number 5 screw but not 40 or 44 thread pitch. Hopefully jim can help me out, he seems to be the expert. Also, hope do I get a copy of the book he refers to so much on the 14,141/2, 141. Thanks in advance everyone. Bryce

Bryce!

It's called the "magazine screw" and finding one can be difficult. I started making them using a large coffee can of screws left to me by my dad and grandfather because they use a thread size no longer available. I am running short of originals but can probably come up with one, the postage will be more than the screw, and I can't give them away. $11 Delivered in a small priority mail box.................otherwise the USPS will find a way to tear up the envelope and lose.
