Was the remington model 725 grip cap hard rubber or plastic? Thanks Terry

The ones with the Remington name in them are plastic. Those are the only ones I've come across

My 1958 M-725, has what I would call a molded Bakelite grip cap. It could be seen as hard rubber.
It isn't shiny like the ones on the 870 shotguns. I hope this helps.
