Remington Model 24 Assembly

Post by scssa_ar »

I'm trying to restore a .22LR Model 24 from 1929. My first question is, is there a repair/disassembly-reassembly manual out there for it? I've seen the owner's manual on stevespage but it isn't very helpful for this model. I haven't cycled any rounds through it yet because I'm in the process of repairing the receiver, but I've noticed that there does not appear to be any extractor on the bolt face.

From the pictures, can any of ya'll tell me what parts I will need for the extractor system? The best "schematic" I've seen (Numrich) was more of a parts catalog and the nomenclature for parts is different from site to site.

Lastly, there is no "cartridge carrier" on top of the bolt and it doesn't appear that there has been one installed (at least for a very long time). Did the .22LR version have one? I ask this because the only one shown on Numrich is for .22 Short (#219).

Sorry for the long post. I appreciate your help.
