Remington Model 33 Single-shot Rimfire -- Help Needed

Post by Scorpion8 »

Howdy again. A friend came to the indoor range the other night with his family to shoot an old Remington Model 33. Nice vintage piece. The issue that it has seems to be feeding. The feed ramp has a nub at the end directly in front of the barrel, with a screw underneath from the bottom. It would seem that the nub is supposed to guide the 22 bullet upward into the chamber, but that doesn't happen. Each cartridge must be loaded by hand into the chamber, it cannot just be left on the feed ramp. Seems like the sear is supposed to tilt up as the bolt it withdrawn, and then tilt down as the bolt is pushed forward. None of that happens. I only had a few minutes to examine the piece, and could not take pictures. But I promised to look into the operation and see what I could find out.

Anybody have any experience with the Model 33 single-shot?
