Remington 12 Gallery serial number range
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the serial number range of the Model 12 Gallery, are they all serial numbered from 1909 on? I found one with RW over 21 on the bottom of the receiver. is this the serial number and if so what would the value be for a early SN rifle? Thanks.

Re: Remington 12 Gallery serial number range
There probably is no answer to your serial number range question. As for the 21 yes it probably is the serial number. It being worth more. Not really unless it has some differant feature about it. It maybe worth more to someone who has no. 20 or 22. There will be some people like me that want to collect every font type that is stamped on the reciever, but most people don't care. Post a picture. We would like to see it.

Re: Remington 12 Gallery serial number range
The 12-B Gallery Special was made starting in 1909. I had serial #26 which was made on the first day of production. They were made with serial #s mixed in with the other M/12s throughout production that ended in 1936. Most of the 12-Bs were made fairly early in the production run.
We don't give values on this site because we can't inspect the guns, but I suggest you at least give some hint as to condition if you want someone to give a value...

Re: Remington 12 Gallery serial number range
Well the bluing is mostly a patina, bore is good with rifling, sights look original. metal has minor blemishes no dents, wood is solid and finish is wearing, minor surface marks from handling, It has a pistol grip cresent stock so I dont know if that is original. all parts are present. I am trying to get a ball park value so I know what I should pay for it, I have a 12A and 12C so I figure it might make a good 12B for the group. Thanks for your help.
