I Have a Model Six (Not 6) and I'd Like To Ask...

Post by ShootistJack »

Hello All,

This is my 2nd post on this forum, (the 1st is in the GUESTBOOK) and I'm confident that I'll be benefitted by submitting my question here!
"Somewhere" I believe that I read that the Model 7600s and the Model Six pump action rifles have free floating barrels.
Searching for this info tonight has not panned out.
Can anyone here say for sure that these rifles do have, or do NOT have free floating barrels?
Thank you for your help with my inquiry.

Yes, they are free-floating. The barrel is separate from the forearm, but I have seen forearms that when rotated can touch the barrel, therefore not being free-floated. If this is undesirable it might be possible to shim the forearm to rotate left or right, and wood can always be removed to create clearance.
