Are you sure someone didn't "make" a Special Field out of a regular model 1100 in .410? I cannot find where they ever cataloged a Special Field in anything but 12 and 20 gauges, in the 1100 and the 870, and I can't find where they ever cataloged a .410 barrel shorter than 25". If it is indeed a factory .410 Special Field it is quite rare. I have never had any use for a .410, but a lot of people do.

I have the Special Field 1100 in 20, and 28 gauge, the 870 in 12 and 20 gauge. The 410s are difficult to find but they come up once in a while. I've heard estimastes that as few as 200 to 400 410's were made. Still looking.....

Please share pictures of your 28 gauge and what is the barrel date code if you don't mind ? I'd like to update my database.
