1900 stock removal problems

Post by Coalman »

I have a model 1900 side by side 12 gauge which was handed down to me from my father. I am trying to get the stock removed to refinish it and am having trouble. I found a posting on here from RemRB dated 12/18/10 where he explains how to do this but I can't get the trigger guard to unscrew because it is hitting the front trigger. I cannot fire the triggers to get them to move rearward. I already have the barrel removed if that makes a difference. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help.

Coalman
First you do not refinish the gun. That will ruin it any marks on it came
from your father hunting with it.Your not going to sell it leave it alone enjoy.
Its not broke don't screw it up have fun with it.
