Locking Up

Post by Ruger48726 »

I have a Sportsman 12 Pump I believe that it was manufactured in 1958. It is my friends gun that I am looking at for him. He is saying that if he shoots it to much, that it will freeze up. Has anybody else had this problem? If so can u please tell me what the problem is? I tore it all apart and it don't appear to have a lot of wear and tear. TBH it looks like new in there lol.

I believe it is an 80s vintage gun. Clean the chamber or stop shooting the cheap steel based shells. And I don't mean just swab the chamber. We the chamber good with WD-40 and let it soak for a few hours. Then take a 12 gauge brush and wrap it with steel wool and chuck it in a drill and really clean it.
What could have happened... did.
