Remington UMC Early Model 10 Trap Grade?

Post by PNC2002 »

Hello Society,

I recently came into possession of a Remington UMC Trap Grade repeating shotgun. There is no model number on the shotgun, but it appears to be an early Model 10 from literature I have seen on this site. Thank you for that.

The original butt plate is chipped, so I ordered a Model 10 UMC plate as a replacement, however, it is about 1/4" too narrow, 1/4" too short and too shallow a curve.

I apologize for not having the s/n at hand. I will post it later today. Any ideas? Did Remington scale down the stocks when the Model 10 came out?

I posted a photo of the butt plate and the gun.

Thanks

What is the length of pull?

It may have been longer than standard and that may account for the length difference but the thickness may be that the target guns may be thicker than standard grades.
