Remington Model 870 Express 16 gauge Express

Post by Wayne Kelley »

I just purchased a new never been fired Model 870 16 ga Express from local gun shop. The serial number is D390337W. Can anyone tell me when it was mfgd? I had looked for a 16 ga for couple of years. I find plenty of ammo and am starting to reload using LEE Load-All II. I also find lots of hulls and wads. Any suggestions on reloading? Wayne

Reloading can be a enjoyable activity while saving a bit of money and discovering loads that best fit your needs. As to the how - follow established loading data, double check used hulls and never reuse wads. Safety first!

D prefix ran from 2001 to 2005. Best guesstimate 2002.
For reloading, Step 1, get the Lyman Shotshell reloading manual. If you decide you want to make some better than factory loads, look at Ballistic Products has to offer.
What could have happened... did.
