I still hunt with my Father’s shot gun.
A Remington model 11-48, 12 ga, semi-automatic, 29.5 inch, full choke barrel.
The barrel code indicates the gun was manufactured in June of 1951.
That date would seem correct.
I have read that Bismuth is the only non-toxic/no-lead shot I should use where laws require.
I have read steel and other alloys will cause barrel damage.
Is Bismuth the only choice?
What brand(s) do you suggest?
Thank you.

Nice Shot and Tungsten-Matrix are both suitable in older guns.

I do not shoot steel. It is not cheap, but I have had excellent results with Kent Impact tungsten matrix.
What could have happened... did.
