LUCKY ME! 1100 20-LT 18.75"

Post by mcarls13 »

Not an easy find and exactly what I was looking for in a Travel Trailer HD. Small pawn shop in Oregon; $415 out the door.
Barrel date code is baffling. Light stamp "D" and what looks like a small case "g" or 9 which doesn't jive. Maybe a "B". Sorry for the fuzzy closeups, not a photographer, money better spent on ammo. SN: prefix R, suffix K. 1990's era police? Anyone recognize receiver roll mark to closer nail down year? Doesn't really matter to me, I'm happy.

Post 1990 yes. It looks like an LT20 Youth or Synthetic model that someone cut the barrel back on and added a magazine extension. What's the LOP?
What could have happened... did.

LOP is 14", overall it's 39". I did find a youth stock set in walnut I'll mount (kinda old school that way). Polish the breech bolt and add a metal follower. Extractor is good. I've read about 11-87 20ga. short barrels, but never a 1100/20LT. This barrel is marked 20-LT, 8 stars. It's a chop, dang nice professional job. Cycles high brass #6 100%. Someday I might call Remington but their records can be iffy, and it's interesting, but not a priority (thinkin' 2005), yet. I'm just happy to find a short 1100 20ga. Thanks Virginian.
