WOULD NOT fit a 1934 deluxe we have AND A 1936 field grade , any info one these would be grate we have a FEW OTHER 31S one is a 1940 the other 2 are 1946's one is a 20ga thanks for any info one barrel swaps my 1935 deluxe PD WILL FIt all the barrels from the 30s guns we got,

I don't understand any of your terminology. What is PD? A date code for June 1935? What is IT? What is deluxe? WC if a date code would be August 1934. Don't know the meaning of 2.

If deluxe means it has checkered wood, the Model No. 31A "Standard" Grade had checkered wood through 1936. For 1937 they introduced the Model No. 31AP "Standard" Grade with the plain stock and ringed forearm, and what had been the Model No. 31A "Standard" Grade with checkering were being sold off as the Model No. 31AC "Standard" Grade. For 1938 the No. 31AC is gone but they still use the No. 31AP designation. By 1939, the gun with the plain stock and ringed forearm has settled down to be the Model No. 31A "Standard" Grade.

my real question was about barrel interchangeability on the 31 shot gun, the PD and WC2 was the date codes I was dealing with . my other question was do these need head spaced to fit right, my other question was banded barrels and none banned will a none banned barrel interchange with the banned type barrel shot gun. yes deluxe was meaning checkered wood,
my 1935 has checkered wood and small checkered forehand it come with a 25 1/2 inch banded full choke barrel it is a full choke we tested it. IT IS the stock barrel, date suffix is PD, I just picked up a long 30 inch vent rib improved cylinder that is not banded it was a Remington second no numbers it has a date suffix WC2 , what should I know on swapping barrels and head spacing on these fine shot guns

I am not at all mechanical. Remington Arms Co., Inc. parts catalogues said barrels needed to be fitted. I would think it would be better to stick within series 1931, 1934 or 1941, but I have seen a 1941 series barrel made to work on a 1934 series action.
