Remington model1100 special field 12 Ga. But plate Question

Post by sgtsemo »

Does anyone have a picture or know the correct Butt plate for a 1984 M1100 special field 12ga? I know some came with a factory Butt pad, but I have just found one at a local shop with a butt plate with the early pre UMC , Remington arms type similar to the style found on my 1900 and 1894 doubles.

In 1984 (and later) the Special Field Model 1100s in 12 and 20 gauge had a black hard plastic curved butt plate a little thicker than the one with a white line spacer on the other 1100s. Listed length of pull was the same 14". I do not remember what the shoulder contact surface looked like. Regular one had grooves in the center area with "Remington" above that. They all had 21" fixed choke barrels in either I.C., Mod., or Full.
What could have happened... did.

The Above topic/subject should read butt plate  . Thanks for the reply the hard butt plate is as you say thicker then my other M1100 shotguns. Just it has the late 1800-1905 logo. Just want to verify it is as it should be. These are very neat shotguns I've owned the 870 special for sometime now and like to bring home a friend for it.
