Remington Autoloading Gun and later Model No. 11 12-gauge serial numbers reached 499999 on August 1, 1943, and then to avoid confusion with early 12-gauge "The Sportsman" which began at serial number 500000 in 1931, they jumped to 700000. The old factory ledger pages, available on this site, don't go up to your gun's serial number, but it would be a late WW-II or early post-

The serial number tables printed with Mr. Tipton's wonderful article on the Model 11s in the Remington Society of America Journal, ten years ago, are not really correct. There was an updated version of that article, with a better serial number table, that use to be on the Remington Arms Co. web site, but like a fool I never printed it off!!
