model 121 smooth bore / routledge

Post by yeojay »

I have a model 121 #35388 on receiver & #35400 on trigger/hammer, it is marked " 22 smooth bore" but has the routledge bore. Any information would be appreciated, it appears that this gun was made prior to the shipment in the 40's. I don't know if there was an earlier shipment to routledge & if it was possible that the mix up happened there? Thanks for sharing any information you might have.

With the two differant serial no. I would say someone put two differant guns together. Its a odd that the serial no. Is so close to the other. Are there any numbers stamped around the barrel codes.

It sounds like a group of 121s were sent to Fred Routledge. When they were cleaned, the parts were probably mixed up by Routledge. The barrel will have a date code that will pinpoint the month and year of original assembly.

Thanks for the replys. The barrel stampings are BJ (plus what looks like a arrowhead symble). I don't have the production codes, would appreciate any further info. Thanks so much. Jim
