Model 32

Post by lee r moege »

I'm a newby to this forum and need a little help please. After 50 plus years of collecting, buying, selling, trading, and building custom stocks,[mostly rifles]my "bucket list" of guns Iwould like to have will soon be complete. I have collected American doubles, mostly Fox's and Elsies but always wanted, since I was a kid almost, a Dan Lefever Syracuse gun, a Model 21 Winchester, and a Model 32 Remington. It looks like I should get my "32" in the next few days. It is skeet grade 26" with a solid rib which is what I always had in mind, although I would prefer a straight grip. My questions are this. Where can you get parts and repair service for 32's if at all? I live an hour from Kansas City in Kansas. Will 3200 or Krieghoff parts fit, and what inherent problems are associated with 32's. It seems to me from 72 year old memory, they are prone to firing pin breakage and I don't know how sensitive the single trigger and ejector systems are. After all, they were mostly used in trap and skeet so I would assume they were pretty trouble free. Is their any source of dissassembly instructions, parts lists, or maybe even so lucky as parts drawings like there are for Elsie's. Any help you all can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee.

You might give Laib's Gunsmithing a call. They are 3200 specialists, but have been a great help finding parts for my 1100s. Give them a call at 320/796-2686. Both Pat laib and Tom Fox are truly nice people. BC

The DelGregos, of Parker Bros. fame, in Ilion, NY, are also the go to Remington Model 32 guys.

Thanks Researcher. I have already talked to them today and they have all the parts for the 32 in stock and advised me that these old girls are tougher than a boot unless somebody tries to adjust the trigger pull or take the creep out, in which case they will quickly turn Irish and go to Dublin, and they are possibly expensive to fix. The thing I was remembering is that the early ones had a square tang that split stocks. Anything with a 4 digit serial number is ok according to Del Grego. BTW I think we share also a passion for the gun named after the fuzzy red long tail critters, which is my primary affliction. Thanks. Lee.
