Help in identifying my remington?

Post by daviddgibbons »

I have a remington rolling block rifle that I am trying to identify. It is a 3 band rifle with screws holding the bands together. Each band has a U stamped on it. The Barrel is marked with a fancy looking B on the left side of the barrel near the breech. The last patent is March 18th 1874. It has a concave steel buttplate. Other than the numbers 1,2,3 and 4 on the side of the sight, there are no other markings in the metal. There is an E stamped into the top of the stock just short of where it meets metal. Length looks to be 50.5 inches and the barrel looks to be 35 inches. Diameter at muzzle looks to be around.44.

Any further identifying or value information would be greatly appreciated.

It is probably a standard export model in 11mm Spanish caliber.
