Got my first 760 and she's a 35!

Post by Muddly »

$350 out the door and she's a beaut! Definately on of the 1980 production and not much used either. blueing is about 90% and the wood is perfect excepting the rear sling base is too far foward...Anyway, there is a number 4 stamped after the date code just ahead of the barrel extension joint.I read on another sight that this was a factory " returned as recieved" stamp. I hope that's not an omen and the previous owner just couldn't shoot or some other minor thing. The rifle fits like a glove ,is EXTREMELY smooth and even has a decent trigger. I am cautiously optomistic...

My bad...She's a 35 Remington. This was a single year production, 1980, but my barrel code( poorly stamped) is PV. June 1979.

Took her to the range with some reloads, 200 gr Rem Corelokts over 37 gr of IMR 3031( this load gave 2100 fps from my 141's 24 inch barrel) and it did quite well. Open sights , 3 rounders at 100 yards were averaging 2 inches. Not too shabby!
