Model 11 Military

Post by Mikejs »

I have in my possession a model 11. It has some type of military symbol with 2 cannons crossing in a circle with the initials FJA on the stock. On the back of the receiver "U.S." with a cannon ball to the right then "MILITARY FINISH". Also on that side it says "Remington REG.US.PAT.OFF. 488247. That is the only number that is even on the gun, but I don't believe it's the serial number because when looking on Remington's website to find more via serial number I come to find out the serial numbers stopped at 425,723 and then started up again at 700,000. I don't think the barrel is original, but cannot tell for sure. On the action it only says "MODEL 11"
Can anyone tell me how to find out more about this gun?
Thanks
