Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
This is for sale and I don't quite know what a fair value is, retail and wholesale. These photos were originally posted under the Remington pre-1899 section as I was unsure if it was an 1891 or 1901 at that time. Only 735 or so produced, but reasonably priced in Flayderman's, surprisingly enough. I posted in this section due to lack of responses in the other section and because it is post-1898.

Re: Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
There were some nice 1891 & 1901 Remington Target Rolling Block pistols in the James Julia Auction today. Does anyone know what they went for? As well as some of the other rare Remingtons?
Re: Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
With all due respect...why is this forum DEAD? Is there that little interest in Remington firearms??? I am on a Smith & Wesson forum, Colt forum, and Winchester forum, and, within 24 hours, a post would receive at least a few responses, if not significantly more! Is there that little interest in Remington firearms.
I will answer my own question. One similar to this one, with a pre-auction estimate of $4,000 to $6,000 sold for, on Sunday, including buyer's premium, for $6,900.
I am interested in Remington firearms. I wish others on this forum actually were, as well.

You've hit the nail on the head! There aren't a lot of folks that are really interested in Remingtons. Take a look at the prices between Remington pistols, and the comparable Colt model. The Colts sell for much more, and many times were made in far greater numbers. Just a fact of life for we Remmy people.

For something with very little interest, the one at James Julia brought a healthy price! Obviously, at least some interest out there...
Re: Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
I agree. My interest is in Rolling Block rifles and it is months between posts on the subject. My other firearms interest is pre 1898 Col;t revolvers and I check the Colt forum twice a day and there is usually something to interest me.orpington wrote:With all due respect...why is this forum DEAD? This forum I only check about one a week and then there is usually nothing.
Re: Remington 1901 Rolling Block Target Pistol
Although this is a Remington Model 1901, the frame is pre-1899, and it is considered to be an "antique". This corrects my first post, where it is claimed to be post-1898: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24319
