Hello everyone. I just found this forum while searching for info on a model 700 257 roberts. I recently purchased a m700adl 257 roberts, I was told it was a special run m700. It is new enough to have the bolt "j-lock" Does anyone know what year it was made? Or possibly where I could find out?

Hi Rover,
According to Remington, your rifle was made from 1991- 1995, the barrel code stamped on left side near the receiver can determine the exact month and year. The .257 Roberts was chosen for the Model 700 Classic in 1982, this is what some people may call a special run. If your gun has the j-lock I would assume it was made in the 91-95 run.
